The Ministry of Justice reported that the number of electronic real estate discharge transactions has risen to more than 28,000 so far in 2021.
It explained that these transfers are processed through the Najiz.sa online portal via the electronic real estate transfer service at ept.moj.gov.sa, noting that the upper limit on the value of properties that owners wish to transfer electronically has been raised from three million riyals to 20 million riyals.
The Ministry stated that real estate transfers are available electronically around the clock via the Najiz portal, following simple and user-friendly steps that allow the seller and buyer to complete the transfer procedures and agree on the details of the sale automatically—without the need for certification by a notary or public notary—in less than 60 minutes.
The service also allows for verification of bank account ownership, as well as verification of payment of real estate transaction tax.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Justice affirmed its commitment to continuing to enhance technology and provide the best innovative digital solutions to serve beneficiaries, and to streamline procedures for them, as part of its work on a series of development initiatives and reforms that have improved the efficiency of notarization and real estate security.
