Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Badeer, Deputy Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing, affirmed that national factories specializing in modern construction methods contribute to enhancing the development of the Saudi construction sector and the transition from traditional to modern construction, thereby accelerating the pace of residential project implementation in less time at competitive costs. He made these remarks while hosting the Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Engineer Osama bin Abdulaziz Al-Zamil, at the Al-Mashriqia project east of Riyadh to review the advanced construction technologies used in the project.

3,701 residential units and 6 designs

The “Al-Mashreqia” project spans an area of more than 3 million square meters, and upon completion, it will offer 3,701 residential units in 6 different designs, providing beneficiaries with flexible options ranging in size from 310 m² to 461 m². Units can be reserved through the “Sakani” website and app or by visiting the Sakani Comprehensive Center in Riyadh.

26 Projects in Riyadh

During the meeting, Engineer Al-Badeer explained that the “Al-Mashriqia” project is an extension of a number of projects currently under construction in Riyadh—totaling 26 projects that provide more than 32,000 residential units of various designs and sizes, noting that the project is distinguished by its innovative approach to modern construction, with Saudi workers employed in national factories that provide suitable job opportunities for Saudi men and women in the construction sector, It ensures the promotion of local content in the real estate sector and increases the private sector’s contribution to non-oil GDP, and achieves the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 target of increasing the homeownership rate to 70%.

Supporting Construction Industry Projects

For his part, His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Engineer Osama bin Abdulaziz Al-Zamil, affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting high-quality industrial projects in the construction sector to stimulate capital investment in the industrial sector and diversify the economic base, by encouraging high-quality investments through the provision of an attractive and stable industrial environment that enhances the sector’s competitiveness both domestically and internationally, He highlighted the Ministry’s commitment to employing and training Saudi nationals in the industrial sector as one of its priorities for localizing high-quality and modern industries, such as modern construction methods.

Flexibility in Engineering Solutions

For his part, the CEO of the National Housing Company, Engineer Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Bati, noted that the project, which the company is developing, is an extension of ongoing efforts aimed at providing suitable housing solutions that enable families to own homes, while simultaneously increasing the supply of high-quality, affordably priced residential units.

The “Al-Mashriqiyah” project features unique architectural solutions characterized by high flexibility, allowing beneficiaries to customize the designs of residential units according to specific requirements, In addition, the project’s strategic location makes it a key link connecting the neighborhoods situated between Dammam Road, Janadriyah Road, and Khurais Road.
