The number of investment opportunities for commercial activities offered by the Al-Ahsa Municipality on the “Opportunities” portal during the third quarter reached approximately 49 opportunities in commercial activities out of a total of 80 investment projects, while industrial opportunities numbered 27, and there were 4 sites for financial activities.
Al-Ahsa Mayor Engineer Essam bin Abdul-Latif Al-Mulla explained that the procedural mechanisms for investment opportunities are an extension of the objectives of the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing to enhance transparency in the procedures for offering and awarding investment opportunities announced by municipal authorities and municipalities, making it easier for investors and interested parties to view all announced opportunities on a unified portal, which helps expand the pool of competitors and positively impacts urban development.
He noted that the most prominent opportunities include (the establishment, operation, and maintenance of a “scrap car yard” site in the Al-Matawi district on an area of 10,000 m², the establishment, operation, and maintenance of a “light and medium industries” factory at the same site; the restoration, operation, and maintenance of a commercial market in Al-Mubarraz; the operation and maintenance of fruit and vegetable shops, and agricultural nurseries at the Central Vegetable Market; the operation and maintenance of stores at the Craftsmen’s Market in downtown Al-Hofuf; and the establishment, operation, and maintenance of “food kiosks” in downtown Al-Mubarraz and Hajarat Maritba Park; the construction, operation, and maintenance of mobile “ATM machines”; and the construction, operation, and maintenance of industrial workshops in the industrial zone in Al-Ayoun.
