His Excellency Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing, visited the Al-Mashriqia residential project east of Riyadh yesterday, to review the progress of construction work and the pace of development at the project, and to assess all development activities being carried out by the National Housing Company (NHC) for beneficiaries of the housing program. The goal is to increase home ownership among Saudi families and expand the supply of affordable housing, thereby achieving the objectives of the Housing Program—one of the programs under the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
During his visit to the “Al-Mashriqiyah” project, His Excellency was accompanied by His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing, Engineer Abdullah bin Muhammad Al-Badeer, as well as a number of senior officials from the Ministry
and the National Housing Company. They viewed a visual presentation on the project, toured several completed residential units within the project, and reviewed the detailed project plan and the project’s sales center.
His Excellency the Minister praised the progress and achievements of the project, as well as the tireless efforts of the National Housing Company in partnership with qualified private-sector developers, to achieve the housing program’s goals of facilitating home ownership for Saudi families and reaching a homeownership rate of 70% by the year 2030, in light of the sector’s unlimited support from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince —may God protect them both—.
For his part, the CEO of the National Housing Company, Engineer Muhammad bin Saleh Al-Bati, noted that the “Al-Mashreqia” residential project is an extension of the projects the company is developing within modern, integrated residential communities, providing a variety of housing units that meet the aspirations and desires of families. He noted that the “Al-Mashreqia” project spans an area of 3.3 million square meters, providing 3,701 residential units with unique architectural solutions that allow beneficiary families to choose from six different designs, with prices starting at 745,000 riyals.
The CEO of the National Housing Company noted that, in the coming period, the company will continue working to increase the housing supply in Riyadh as part of its goal to provide 147,000 units in addition to those previously offered, in order to achieve the objectives of the housing program —one of the programs under the Kingdom’s Vision 2030—.
The “Al-Mashriqia” project is an extension of a number of projects currently under construction in Riyadh—totaling 26 projects that provide more than 32,000 residential units of various designs and sizes, The project is distinguished by its innovative approach to modern construction, employing Saudi workers in national factories specializing in modern building technologies, and is strategically located along key arterial roads in Riyadh.
