Riyadh topped the list of real estate transactions completed last October, with 4,274 transactions in the residential and commercial sectors—a 5% increase from September, when 4,054 transactions were completed. The value of October’s transactions exceeded 7.34 billion riyals, with 3,791 residential transactions worth 3.677 billion riyals, compared to 483 commercial transactions with a total value of 3.662 billion, according to Ministry of Justice data.
Dammam City Index
The number of transactions in Dammam reached 419, with a total value of 578.164 million riyals, of which 325 were residential transactions worth 377 million riyals, and 94 were commercial transactions worth 201.164 million riyals.
Mecca Index
The value of transactions in Makkah exceeded the one-billion-riyal mark with 633 transactions, of which the residential sector accounted for 579 transactions worth 955.424 million, while the number of commercial transactions reached 54, with a total value of 101 million riyals.
40,400 Transactions in Two Months
Overall, the number of real estate transactions completed during the months of Muharram and Safar reached approximately 40,400, including 20,900 transactions in Muharram and approximately 19,500 in Safar, The number of transactions during the first two months of the current Hijri year declined compared to the same period in 1442, when the number of transactions reached 49,800.
In terms of the number of properties sold, the number of properties sold during Muharram was 21,800, and in Safar, approximately 20,300; the total number of properties sold during the two months was approximately 42,100.
Recovery in the Value of Real Estate Transactions
The value of real estate transactions during the year 1442, for the second consecutive year, grew by 20%—equivalent to 33.4 billion riyals—on a year-over-year basis, reaching approximately 197.21 billion riyals. This year’s increase followed growth in transaction value during 1441, which rose by 2% compared to 1440—equivalent to 2.4 billion riyals—as the value in 1440 stood at approximately 161.33 billion riyals.
