The Housing Program issued more than 31,000 electronic contracts for residential land in 2021 to its Saudi beneficiary families through its smartphone app, as part of the diverse housing and financing options it offers to facilitate homeownership, in line with the objectives of the Housing Program—one of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 initiatives—to increase the homeownership rate among Saudi families to 70 percent by 2030.
223 residential plans
“Sakani” explained that the residential land plots it offers number 223, providing more than 180,000 residential plots across all cities and regions of the Kingdom, including 55 residential plans in the Riyadh region, 19 land plans in the Makkah region, nine residential plans in Madinah, 18 land plans in the Qassim region, 19 land plans in the Eastern Province, 24 in the Hail region, 24 in the Asir region, nine in the Northern Border region, 16 for “Sakani” beneficiaries in the Jazan region, seven residential projects in the Najran region, eight land plots in Al-Baha Region, ten residential plots in Al-Jawf Region, and five residential land plots in Tabuk Region.
Issuance of Electronic Contracts
The program noted that it can issue contracts electronically within the plans made available by the “Sakani” website and app for families benefiting from diverse housing options and solutions in all cities and regions of the Kingdom through simplified electronic procedures, noting that land plots range up to 500 square meters, and that reservation procedures, site visits, and review of suitable plots and plans can be completed through the website.
“Sakani” offers a number of housing options and financing solutions to meet the needs and aspirations of families, including access to subsidized mortgages for the purchase of ready-to-move-in housing units, the purchase of residential units under construction within “Sakani” projects in partnership with the private sector, as well as access to subsidized mortgage loans for self-construction for those who own residential land.
Immediate Eligibility
It is worth noting that the “Sakani” program, through its website and app, provides a range of housing services, including immediate eligibility, the issuance of price quotes, access to real estate advisory services, selection of model designs for self-build beneficiaries, electronic issuance of building permits, and electronic financing, along with the ability to review various housing options for units under construction, which are overseen by the Off-Plan Sales and Leasing Committee across 112 projects offering more than 147,000 housing units, the majority of which are located in major residential suburbs developed by the National Housing Company (NHC) in key cities.
