“Municipality and Housing” signs three memorandums of understanding with telecommunications companies in Saudi Arabia

The Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing (MOMRAH) today signed three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Mobily, Saudi Telecommunications Company (STC) and Saudi Technical Control and Security Company (TCSC), under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Haqeel, on the sidelines of the LEAP International Technical Conference, where the Ministry was represented by Ali bin Hadi Rajhi, Deputy of Digital Transformation and Smart Cities.

The signing was held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing, Eng.

The memorandum was signed by Mobily's Chief Business Officer, Engineer Majid Al-Otaibi, which aims to enhance governance and strategic cooperation in ICT-related fields, develop cooperation in the fields of developing and improving the smart cities system and digital initiatives, identify cooperation programs, develop the city monitoring system, supervise the work and projects of the existing secretariats, and discuss aspects of joint work in developing smart cities applications and services, according to the latest systems applied in this field.

The memorandum was signed on the part of Mobily.

The scope of the memorandum with STC, which was signed by the company's Vice President for Government Sales, Engineer Faisal Al-Bakri, includes discussing the mechanism of developing the necessary financial models to activate the Ministry's digital initiatives, discussing aspects of joint cooperation through the U Inspire program, which contributes to enriching the lives of communities and customer experiences, in addition to creating events that seek to raise the quality of life, and activating the methodology of innovation and research and development for emerging technologies.

The Saudi Company for Technical Control and Comprehensive Security was represented by Abdulaziz bin Ibrahim Al-Nuwaisir, Chairman of the Board of Directors, as the Ministry seeks to enhance the position of Saudi cities in the ranking of the best global cities by creating a platform for smart parking and lighting solutions, in addition to container management and other services that contribute to raising the quality of life.
