Issuing Sukuk for 3.780 million square meters in Makkah's informal settlements

<Ehsan Bafqih, Governor of the General Authority for State Real Estate, revealed the issuance of seven sukuk for informal neighborhoods in the Makkah region, with a total area exceeding 3.Two deeds for the neighborhoods of Goz Al Nakasa and Al Kadwa in Makkah, and five deeds for Ghalil and Petromin in Jeddah.

This came during the dialogue session at the Real Estate Makers Forum dedicated to the government sector, organized by the Makkah Chamber on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of its establishment, with the wide participation of officials, investors and those interested in real estate and economic affairs.

<Bafqeeh stated that the General Authority for State Real Estate has contributed to addressing the challenges and issues facing ten development projects and residential plans in a number of regions of the Kingdom, some of which are in Makkah, such as: ”Jabal Omar project, King Abdulaziz Road ”Masar“, in addition to Qouz Al-Nakasah and Al-Kadwa.“

Bafaqeeh explained that these projects faced challenges and obstacles that stood in the way of their completion, including the overlapping of private real estate properties with government properties and the lack of title deeds for a number of sites, until the Authority studied these obstacles and came up with innovative solutions that contribute to putting these development projects on the right track by issuing standardized deeds for each of these projects.

Bafaqeeh explained that these projects faced challenges and obstacles that stood in the way of their completion. The Governor of the General Authority for State Real Estate valued the cooperation and integration of the roles of the government system, which has a great impact on achieving common strategic goals and achieving the sustainable development of state real estate.
He revealed that more than 324 million square meters of land were allocated to 24 government agencies during the past year 2021, while 64 allocation decisions were issued to meet the real estate needs of the government system.
