The Ministry of Justice has published, via the “Istithla” platform, a draft regulation on foreign law firms, which aims to develop the legal profession, improve the quality of legal practice and the competence of its practitioners, localize global expertise, enhance the Kingdom’s competitiveness and improve its business environment, create more high-quality job opportunities for Kingdom citizens both directly and indirectly, and improve the efficiency of the judicial system. The survey will close on April 14, 2022.
The “Isti’lal” platform, affiliated with the National Center for Competitiveness, currently features 13 regulatory and procedural drafts related to economic and development affairs, proposed by various government agencies; the aim is to enable the public, government agencies, and the private sector to express their views and comments on these drafts before they are approved.
The publication of draft regulations, bylaws, and similar documents via the “Istisla’al” platform underscores the commitment of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques —may God preserve him—to promote transparency and foster a culture of consultation among the public, government agencies, and the private sector, and to involve them in drafting proposals related to the business environment, thereby achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to place the Kingdom among the top ten most competitive countries in the world.
