Engineer Mohammed Al-Bati, CEO of the National Housing Company, confirmed that the volume of mortgage loans over the past few years has reached more than 500,000 beneficiaries. He noted this during his participation in the "Dialogue Tuesday" event organized by the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue in Riyadh to highlight housing issues and their importance to society and quality of life, that the company contributed to raising the homeownership rate from 46 percent in 2018 to 60 percent in 2020.
Al-Bati emphasized the role of real estate developers in enabling the private sector to develop products supported by the Ministry of Housing, saying: "The company currently has more than 80 developers in 17 cities across the Kingdom, with 124,000 housing units," adding that the Housing Company continues to implement projects to reach 300,000 housing units by 2025.
He noted that the National Housing Company relies on a number of solutions and initiatives, the most important of which is the Sakani platform, which serves as the first point of contact for all beneficiaries to apply for housing products and connects financing and development entities with beneficiaries. and over the past few years, the platform has reached more than 500,000 beneficiaries.
The CEO of the National Housing Company noted that the real estate sector operates more than 120 opportunities and services that evolve alongside the sector, It has also contributed to the creation of 620 industries, including soil testing and the cement sector, and has become a major market for companies. Through currently ongoing projects, more than 800 million riyals have been paid to companies specializing in soil testing, representing an opportunity for the local market.
