Commendable humanitarian initiatives… The Alwaleed Humanitarian Foundation celebrates 2,110 families moving into their first homes

On the occasion of the first anniversary of the signing of the partnership agreement between the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing and the Alwaleed Humanitarian Foundation ,“ the Ministry celebrated the move-in of 2,110 of the most needy families into their first homes through the Jood Housing Platform, as well as the distribution of 750 cars benefiting 18,250 recipients, with support from the Foundation. The ceremony was held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Municipal, Rural, and Housing Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Developmental Housing Authority, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, and was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the “Al-Waleed Humanitarian Foundation.”

For his part, His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Municipal, Rural, and Housing Affairs, Engineer Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Badeer, noted that this agreement serves as a successful model of the nonprofit sector fulfilling its social responsibilities, and in activating its vital role in supporting community initiatives that have a tangible impact on segments of society, specifically the most needy families, noting that this agreement and other tripartite agreements contribute to achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 by increasing the nonprofit sector’s contribution to GDP by 5% by 2030.

For her part, Her Royal Highness Princess Lamia bint Majid bin Abdulaziz, Secretary-General of the Alwaleed Humanitarian Foundation, affirmed that the celebration embodies the “Alwaleed Humanitarian” approach and its aspirations to improve the economic and social well-being of families in need, through the creation of innovative development programs and the launch of inspiring initiatives, so that these individuals can become an active force in the prosperity of the national economy, social cohesion, and the achievement of sustainable development.
This initiative comes as part of the implementation of the partnership agreement between the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing; ”Alwaleed for Humanity”; and ”Sakan,” represented by the Jood Housing Platform, which was signed in July 2021, and will last for five years, during which “Alwaleed Humanitarian” will provide financial support totaling 2.06 billion riyals to help 10,000 of the most needy Saudi families purchase their first home, in accordance with the support guidelines approved by the “Jood Al-Iskan” platform, in addition to providing 10,000 cars.

It is worth noting that the “Jood Al-Iskan” platform is one of the initiatives of the Private Developmental Housing Foundation aimed at engaging the community—both individuals and organizations —to increase charitable housing donations through an online platform that ensures transparency, accuracy, and professionalism in the delivery of contributions.
