<The Ministry of Housing announced the opening of the nomination process for the GCC Housing Award in its first cycle. The award aims to encourage activities and research works that contribute to the development of the housing sector in the GCC countries, and to encourage the spirit of competition among universities, consulting offices, urban planners, architects, engineers and other specialists to prepare projects, research and studies that help develop the housing sector in light of multiple variables, and the award is granted to the best projects, research and studies in the field of housing that contribute to the development of the housing sector

• Strengthening social relations through housing
• Partnership initiatives with the private sector

• Sustainability in housing (socially, economically, environmentally and culturally)
• Excellence in the development of housing policies, strategies and systems.
• Using materials compatible with the nature of the Gulf environment (materials, specifications and technologies)

The Ministry has allocated three prizes for the first place prize (100,000 riyals), second place (70,000 riyals) and third place (30,000 riyals), and the candidate can be a research center, university, company, institution, consulting offices or any specialist in any field related to the housing sector in the GCC countries.

<The deadline for receiving the nomination files at the GCC General Secretariat is the end of May 2015.
