Real estate transaction values fell by 196.6 billion riyals in the first half

The value of real estate transactions completed from the beginning of 1436 AH through the end of Jumada al-Thani totaled 196.6 billion riyals, a decrease of 21% compared to the same period last year, according to data released by the Ministry of Justice.

The value of residential transactions in the first 6 months of this year reached approximately 135.3 billion riyals, a decrease of 17% compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, the value of commercial transactions reached approximately 61.3 billion riyals in the first 6 months of 1436 AH, marking a decrease of 27 % compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, the value of real estate transactions during the month of Jumada al-Thani reached 24.1 billion riyals, a decrease of 49% compared to the same month of the previous year, when it stood at 47.1 billion riyals.

Real estate transactions during the month of Jumada al-Thani were divided between residential properties, valued at 16.4 billion riyals—a decrease of 43% compared to the same month last year— and commercial transactions valued at 7.7 billion riyals, a decrease of 58% compared to last year.

Real estate transactions involving land plots accounted for the largest share, totaling 20.1 billion riyals, representing approximately 84% of the total value, followed by apartment transactions valued at 1.1 billion riyals.

As for the most active cities in terms of residential real estate transaction value during the month of Jumada al-Thani, Riyadh ranked first with transactions totaling 3.72 billion riyals, a decrease of 29% compared to the same month last year, followed by Jeddah with approximately 3.32 billion riyals, a decrease of 52% from the same month last year.

As for commercial transactions, Riyadh was the most active city, with the value of transactions completed during the month of Jumada al-Thani reaching 3.25 billion riyals, a decrease of 37% compared to the same month last year.
