The Saudi Council of Engineers organized the Fourth International Conference on Project Management yesterday under the theme ”Toward Professional Project Management.” The conference lasted two days, The conference was opened yesterday by Dr. Jamil Al-Baqawi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Council of Engineers, on behalf of Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, Minister of Commerce and Industry.
The conference addresses topics of utmost importance regarding project management and reaffirms the wise leadership’s support for efforts aimed at implementing projects approved within development plans, in order to benefit from these projects and achieve the well-being of citizens</
In his address to the conference, Al-Baqawi referred to the remarks made by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah, may God have mercy on him, addressed to engineers during the previous session of this conference, which had a significant impact on all stakeholders in the public and private sectors, urging them to move forward in seeking the best solutions and practices and overcoming regulatory and legal obstacles, to achieve optimal management of our development projects, and to continue holding and developing this conference and seeking the latest engineering practices and the best experts and specialists in the field of project management, in line with the conference’s objectives, which encompass several aspects, the most important of which is clarifying the role of project management methodologies in implementing development plans.
On the sidelines of the conference, a joint cooperation agreement was signed between the Saudi Council of Engineers and the International Project Management Association</ IPMA signed by Reinhard Ring, President of the International Project Management Association, which aims to promote the optimal application of internationally recognized best practices and methodologies in project management.
