The Eastern Province Municipality recorded 246 violations at buildings under construction in Dhahran’s neighborhoods during the month of November, as part of its efforts to implement the National Campaign to Reduce Construction Waste.
The Secretariat stated that the violations detected ranged from constructing unauthorized additions, to storing construction materials on sidewalks and roads, to failure to maintain site cleanliness during and after construction, dumping construction waste on vacant lots, and poor public sanitation.
It explained that these inspections are part of ongoing efforts to preserve the environment and maintain public cleanliness, as well as to increase compliance with regulations and guidelines, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
She confirmed that authorities have verified compliance with municipal provisions, standards, and requirements; adherence to renovation and demolition permits; the monitoring of violations; and the enforcement of relevant municipal penalties.
