The the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resourcesbegan today, Sunday, offering a service to issue “Certificates of Origin” for domestic products through its website. In a statement posted on its Twitter account, the ministry said that Certificates of Origin include four forms: a Certificate of Origin for domestic products destined for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and for domestic products destined for Arab countries.
It also includes the (preferential) Certificate of Origin—the standardized form for Gulf Arab countries—when exporting to countries and economic blocs covered by free trade agreements, as well as the Certificate of Origin form for other countries that do not grant preferential treatment.
She added that the Certificate of Origin is a document certifying that products exported abroad are of national origin or have acquired national origin status, The service also targets industrial facilities and the commercial sector—including companies and institutions—as well as individuals, such as farmers, fishermen, self-employed individuals, local artisans, and others.
