On Wednesday, the Jeddah Governorate Municipality began implementing the decision to fence off vacant lands on the main axes and streets “targeted” within the second phase, after the specified deadline had passed, stressing that it will apply the regulations for municipal violations for non-compliant owners.

The Secretariat stated that the axes and roads targeted by the decision to fence off vacant lands during the second phase include: (Al-Makrona Road - Prince Mutaib bin Abdulaziz Road - Corniche Road - Abdullah Al-Sulaiman Street - Al-Batrji Street - Prince Abdulmajid bin Abdulaziz Street - Prince Faisal bin Fahd Street - Prince Nayef Road - Prince Mishaal bin Majid Street - Quraish Street).

The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing launched its awareness campaign to implement the decision to fence off vacant lands. The decision targets owners of vacant (commercial) lands located on the main axes with high traffic density, which will be clarified through the (GIS) program within the initiative to address visual distortion.

It is worth mentioning that the campaign comes in two phases, the first of which includes announcing the targeted axes and launching the fencing guide, while the second phase includes monitoring and applying the regulations and monitoring the compliance of owners with the aim of improving the urban landscape by unifying the appearance of the vacant lands surrounding the buildings, reducing the accumulation of waste within those lands, protecting them from encroachments and clarifying the boundaries of their ownership.
