The Saudi Council of Engineers launched in collaboration with the participating entities in the Permanent Coordinating Committee for the Development of the Contracting Sector, guidelines to enhance the quality of the Saudi Building Code system, as these guidelines are part of the committee’s initiatives to develop the construction sector in the Kingdom.

The Secretary General of the Saudi Council of Engineers, Engineer Abdulnasser Al-Abdullatif, explained that the Council worked on preparing the guidelines in cooperation with all relevant government agencies, noting that the guidelines aim to advance the Saudi Building Code for residential buildings, in addition to the Society’s commitment to providing best practices and information that will assist owners of engineering firms and companies, construction companies, inspectors, and professional examiners to contribute to the development and sustainability of their engineering work.

He noted that the guidelines contain explanations of the required regulations and procedures, as well as images and illustrative drawings consistent with engineering practices, and include units of measurement and mathematical equations to enrich service providers and practitioners in this field with the necessary knowledge and guidance, and provide them with guides that offer all the data and instructions to support beneficiaries and enhance their readiness to implement the requirements of the Saudi Building Code, noting that the Authority aims, through these guides, to establish a fundamental reference for this sector.

Engineer Al-Abdullatif called on engineering firms and companies, construction companies, inspectors, and examiners to review the guidance manuals and take advantage of the service.
