The General Real Estate Authority andthe National Company for Real Estate Registration Services have completed their preparations to begin real estate registration in the Al-Falah neighborhood of Riyadh, effective yesterday, Sunday, 17 Shawwal 1444 AH, corresponding to May 7, 2023 AD.
The Authority’s official spokesperson, Tayseer Al-Mufarraj, explained that work has been underway in recent weeks to finalize all preparations for commencing operations in the first areas to benefit from the “Real Estate Registry,” noting that authorized registrars will begin their fieldwork in the Al-Falah neighborhood starting on the scheduled date for the launch of real estate registration. He also noted that the installation of informational signs within the neighborhood has begun, and that the call center and customer service center have been set up.

He emphasized that the Real Estate Registry, which will be assigned to all properties in the neighborhood upon completion of registration, is an extension of the current phase of electronic deeds for all residential, commercial, agricultural, and government properties, and that the initial property registration will be available free of charge through the electronic Land Registry platform.
Al-Mufarraj explained that a “property number” and a title deed will be issued for every real estate unit, regardless of type, to replace the current title deeds, The new title deed will include data and descriptions of the property, its condition, associated rights and obligations, and all real estate transactions pertaining to it, linked to geospatial information through surveying and geographic coordinates of the properties, serving as the basis for registering ownership and the associated real estate rights, thereby contributing to the sustainability and strengthening of the real estate sector and its key enablers.
It is worth noting that the “Authority” recently issued licenses to 237 real estate registrars after they successfully completed the qualification course, which is one of the requirements for becoming a real estate registrar in the real estate registration system. This group represents the first cohort of real estate registrars qualified to perform documentation of real estate transactions through the real estate registration platform. In the coming period, a sufficient number of registrars will be qualified to complete the real estate registry project.
It was previously determined by General Real Estate Authority had previously announced that the month of Shawwal 1444 AH, corresponding to May 2023 CE, would mark the launch of real estate registration operations for the “Real Estate Registry” in accordance with its updated mechanism, based on the operational plan and readiness criteria in the city of Riyadh, the province of Jeddah, and the Dammam suburb. The beneficiary neighborhoods where real estate registration will begin gradually in the coming period will be announced.
