Press reports indicate that disputes among heirs over commercial real estate accounted for 55% of the total 7,744 cases filed with the courts during the current Hijri year.
The courts in the Riyadh region accounted for the highest percentage, at approximately 28.2 percent, having received 2,178 cases, followed by the courts in the Makkah region with 1,959 cases, and then the Eastern Province with 1,054 cases. The courts in the Asir region recorded 545 inheritance division cases, Medina 442 cases, the Qassim region 390 cases, followed by the Hail region with 290 cases, and Tabuk with 269 cases, followed by the Jazan region with 242 cases.
The Al-Jawf region recorded 170 cases, Al-Baha 75 cases, and the Northern Border region 73 cases, followed by the Najran region with 57 cases since the beginning of the current Hijri year.
