The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority has invited businesses subject to Value Added Tax (VAT) whose annual supplies of goods and services exceed 40 million riyals to submit their tax returns for last December and the fourth quarter of 2023, no later than January 31 of this year.

The Authority urged establishments to submit their tax returns via the website, or submit and pay via the Authority's application for smart phones (ZATCA), in order to avoid the penalty for failure to submit the return within the specified period, at a minimum of 5% and a maximum of 25% of the tax value that the taxpayer should have declared.

The Zakat and Taxation Authority called on establishments to submit their tax returns by January 31st of this year. The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZTCA) invited business taxpayers wishing to obtain more information on VAT to contact it through the unified call center number (19993), which operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, or the “Ask Zakat, Tax and Customs” account on the (@Zatca_Care) X platform, or through email ([email protected]) or instant messaging on the Authority's website.

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZTCA) has also invited business taxpayers interested in learning more about VAT. VAT is one of the tax systems in force in the Kingdom and is an indirect tax levied on all goods and services bought and sold by businesses with some exceptions.
