The Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing has launched a service for temporary billboard permits via the “Baladi” platform and app, which aims to regulate temporary billboards on the facades of commercial establishments, improve compliance with visual standards, and coordinate advertisements for sales, services, or new products.

The Ministry clarified that the temporary advertising permit must be valid for 90 days and must be an advertisement for a service or “sale” or a product promotion for the establishment itself only, while ensuring that the signs within a single building are arranged in a uniform manner and displayed in harmony with other signs.

It is also required that the signs not cause noise or light pollution or contain content that violates public decency, and that advertisements or promotional signs not be installed on building windows; approval from the Ministry of Commerce must be obtained if the permit is for temporary sale signs.

This service is part of a series of e-services provided by the Ministry to improve the user experience and enable business owners to obtain permits for temporary advertising signs in accordance with the necessary requirements and regulations, thereby preserving the appeal and overall appearance of commercial establishments" facades.
