Foundation Day... An Occasion to Celebrate History and Heritage

It falls on February 22 of each year Saudi National Day, a national holiday commemorating the founding of the first Saudi state by Imam Muhammad bin Saud in 1727 AD.

National Day is an important occasion to celebrate the history and rich heritage of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; it reminds us of the heroes of the past who sacrificed to build this great nation, and it reinforces the values of loyalty and belonging among the Kingdom’s citizens.

On National Day, numerous celebrations and events are held throughout the Kingdom. These celebrations include military and folk performances, as well as fireworks displays. Cultural and heritage exhibitions and events are also held to highlight the Kingdom’s history and culture.

National Day is an occasion to express pride and admiration for Saudi Arabia; it is a day that unites us in our love for our homeland and reinforces our sense of belonging.
