The General Real Estate Authority, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, carried out 31 inspection tours last February of this year, 31 inspection tours targeting 8,354 real estate establishments, covering: the Riyadh, Eastern, and Makkah regions, with the aim of ensuring compliance with real estate legislation in general and the Real Estate Brokerage System in particular, as well as matters falling within the jurisdiction of the participating government agencies regarding Saudization and facility licensing.
Results of the inspection tours
The General Real Estate Authority clarified that fieldwork is one of the areas it is working on in partnership with the relevant authorities, and regarding the complaint channel, the Authority received a total of 680 complaints through its various channels, all of which were addressed and processed, Additionally, more than 8,067 real estate listings were reviewed online to verify their compliance with regulations, The Authority employs electronic monitoring targeting digital channels and real estate platforms to verify the legality of advertisements and digital real estate brokerage practices.
Compliance with Real Estate Regulations
The General Real Estate Authority called on all real estate brokers and service providers to comply with real estate regulations, and to familiarize themselves with violations to avoid penalties, which include warnings, suspension or revocation of licenses, or financial fines, emphasizing that the imposed fine may be doubled if the violation is repeated within three years of its initial occurrence, The law’s implementing regulations specify the classification of violations and the corresponding penalties, The Authority also called on citizens and residents to contact it in the event of suspected real estate violations, real estate fraud, or other inquiries through its official reporting channel on the Authority’s official platform or by calling (199011).
It should be noted that a real estate brokerage license is the official document that authorizes individuals and entities to engage in real estate brokerage activities and services covered by Real Estate Brokerage System, which aims to regulate real estate brokerage activities, provide innovative real estate services, and educate beneficiaries. The Real Estate Brokerage System also enhances the quality of real estate transactions, serves real estate brokers and clients, contributes to the sustainability of real estate assets, reduces real estate disputes, protects the rights of parties involved, and increases transparency in the real estate market.
