Dr. Mufarrij Al-Haqbani, Minister of Labor, revealed that his ministry has established a grievance committee for contractors, so that contractors can file a grievance with this committee if they have been denied a right to which they are entitled, noting that the Ministry of Labor is committed to rewarding establishments that have achieved high rates of Saudization and providing services to outstanding establishments, such as fast-track visas, work permits, service transfers, and recruitment.

Al-Haqbani noted that “Hadaf” is responsible for the compensation mechanism for the contracting sector, whereby compensation is paid in an amount equal to the financial fee paid by each establishment for its expatriate workforce—which exceeds the number of Saudis employed there—for the original duration of the executed contract only, He clarified that the expatriate workers for whom the financial compensation is paid must be linked to contracted government projects, and the status of workers associated with the project must be resolved upon completion of the project, either by proving their departure, transferring them to another government project, or any other resolution determined by the committee, in accordance with the public interest. Specialized firms have been contracted to compensate the contractors.
