The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has agreed to amend the start of the period of validity of customs exemptions for industrial establishments by extending the period from 6 months to 12 months, in order to facilitate the procedures of industrial establishment owners and reduce the number of requests received by the customs exemption review committee regarding the amendment of the period, in coordination and cooperation with the General Customs Authority.
<The controls for requesting customs exemption for primary and semi-finished materials, equipment and machinery necessary for production and spare parts in industrial establishments were calculated for the period of entry into force of the ministerial decision on exemption from customs duties for six months preceding the date of submission of the request. This comes at a time when the Ministry of Commerce and Industry emphasizes its keenness and interest in facilitating regulatory procedures to improve the industrial environment and contribute to attracting and localizing industrial investments in the Kingdom.
