The Saudi Accreditation Center signed a memorandum of understanding with Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing; with the aim of developing bilateral cooperation in the field of quality and accreditation and enhancing mutual understanding between the two sides to achieve the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail. The MoU was signed by the Executive Director of the Saudi Accreditation Center, Dr. Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Qaid, and the Undersecretary for Licensing and Project Coordination, Mr. Muhammad bin Ibrahim Al-Melhem.
The MoU covers several key aspects, most notably cooperation between the two parties in coordinating conformity assessment activities for entities affiliated with the Ministry, ensuring that laboratories and inspection services licensed by the Ministry obtain accreditation, the use of laboratories, inspection bodies, and certification bodies accredited by the Center in the Ministry’s contracts, as well as the acquisition by entities subject to the Ministry’s oversight of management system certificates related to environmental systems, as well as occupational health and safety management systems, from certification bodies accredited by the Saudi Accreditation Center, including the training of Ministry staff in technical fields and the participation of technical staff in Saudi accreditation training activities, in addition to any other area agreed upon by both parties to serve the objectives of the memorandum.
