The Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing signed a memorandum of cooperation yesterday with the Saudi Accreditation Center, with the aim of cooperating and exchanging expertise in the field of oversight and consulting, under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail.
Representing the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing at the signing ceremony was the Undersecretary for Licensing and Project Coordination, Engineer Muhammad bin Ibrahim Al-Melhem, while the Saudi Accreditation Center was represented by its Executive Director, Dr. Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Qaid, in the presence of numerous leaders and officials from both sides.
The memorandum of cooperation and partnership includes the exchange of technical expertise, participation in relevant advisory and technical committees, the accreditation of the Ministry’s laboratories and its affiliated secretariats in all fields, and the accreditation of the inspection services provided by the Ministry through the Saudi Accreditation Center, in addition to utilizing laboratories, inspection bodies, and certification bodies accredited by the Center. The two sides will also cooperate in the field of staff training and technical qualification.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing has signed several agreements and partnerships in recent months with various entities and institutions in the public and private sectors, with the aim of strengthening integration with relevant entities to develop and improve the quality of services provided in the municipal and housing sectors, thereby contributing to the achievement of the sector’s objectives in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
