Rebar prices in Saudi Arabia witnessed a divergence during the month of June, as the prices of electrical wires and cables increased significantly. According to the Goods and Services Price Averages Bulletin issued by the General Authority for Statistics, the price of 6mm rebar decreased by 4.3% to reach SAR 3897.64 per ton.

The price of 8mm diameter rebar decreased by 0.6% to reach 2768.6 SAR per ton. The record of 10mm rebar fell by 0.7% to reach 2820.41 SAR per ton.

Electric cable prices also recorded a rise between 6.1% and 10.5%, with prices ranging between SAR 48.02 per meter and SAR 533.2 per meter.

In addition, the majority of wood species increased on a monthly basis, with Chilean wood being the only exception with a decrease.

Cement and concrete prices

Cement prices cement prices in the Saudi market witnessed a remarkable variation during the month of June, according to the monthly bulletin of the Statistics Authority. The price of black cement with a weight of 50 kg increased by 4%, reaching SAR 15.77. In contrast, the price of white cement recorded a slight decrease of 0.6%, reaching SR38.08 for the same weight.

<In the other building materials sector, the price of national gypsum rose to SR16.42, registering an increase of 4.4%. The price of white fine sand increased by 12.4%, reaching 69.36 riyals per cubic meter. The price of red sand increased by 18.5%, reaching 31.41 riyals per cubic meter. The price of blended sand increased by 12.5%, reaching 49 riyals per cubic meter.

As for block prices, they witnessed a slight decrease, as the price of 15 cm black block decreased by 0.7% and the price of 20 cm block decreased by 1.5% on a monthly and annual basis, respectively, reaching 1705.72 riyals and 1756.83 riyals.
