A report by the website “Mordor Intelligence” Market Size Home Furniture market in Saudi Arabia is projected to reach $4.49 billion in 2024, noting that it is expected to reach $5.98 billion by 2029, with a compound annual growth rate of 5.91% during the forecast period (2024–2029).

The report explained that living room and bedroom furniture are among the sectors of the Kingdom’s furniture market that generate the most revenue, with sustained growth over the years.

The report noted that Saudi Arabia’s total population is steadily increasing, with a rise in residential space leading to increased demand from households for home furniture. As the economy recovers from the negative impact of the pandemic, the country’s urban population is growing, leading to an increase in commercial space as well as demand for luxury/premium furniture.

A report by “Mordor Intelligence” indicated that retail furniture sales in the Kingdom declined during the COVID-19 pandemic due to the restrictions imposed. However, as remote work became the norm in commercial spaces, demand for furniture also declined. The report noted that to mitigate the decline in revenue, furniture companies began making their products available through e-commerce and other online channels.

The report confirmed that online furniture sales increased during this period as more retailers began offering their products online and more people started purchasing products through e-commerce. In terms of market share, Amazon holds more than 50% of the market in Saudi Arabia, making furniture from major brands such as Costco, Easy Home, Target, and others available through online sales channels.

With the growing number of payment options available for online purchases—such as credit cards and equal monthly installments—along with attractive offers from sellers, buying furniture online has become a convenient and user-friendly experience. With this trend, online purchasing options are opening up new revenue streams, enabling manufacturers to increase their furniture sales.

Contract furniture in the Kingdom is also experiencing steady growth from both local government and commercial enterprises. Furthermore, the homeownership rate is steadily rising in the country and is expected to reach over 70% in the coming years, signaling increased business for furniture manufacturers. Riyadh, Jeddah, Mecca, Medina, and other cities stand out as leading cities in Saudi Arabia, creating opportunities for sales in the furniture market.

According to a report by “Moodor Intelligence,” the rise in the number of residential apartments in the Kingdom and the expansion of modern infrastructure are expected to stimulate demand in the home furniture market due to consumer interest in furniture and home décor. In terms of the Kingdom’s furniture market revenue, bedroom furniture accounts for more than 19%, with a steady increase in revenue over the years.

With apartments and villas dominating the residential sectors in the Kingdom, they are emerging as sectors with growing demand for bedroom furniture, as people prefer apartments in cities. In addition, following the recovery from COVID-19, the country’s hospitality sector is experiencing a surge in business and a resurgence in demand for bedding and bedroom furniture.
