Jeddah Municipality has removed a number of non-commercial buildings that were illegally exploited and converted into shops, as part of the field control campaign to improve and increase compliance.

Jeddah Municipality has removed a number of non-commercial buildings in the Aziziyah neighborhood. <The Municipality explained that within its continuous field tours, the control teams were able to monitor violating sites in the Al-Aziziyah neighborhood, and it was found that all sites operate without permits and that the buildings used are non-commercial buildings that were illegally exploited and converted into shops, which may cause multiple risks due to excessive loads on electrical wires, and the use of Residential buildings as stores of flammable or hazardous materials, as well as unplanned changes to these sites or modifications to the infrastructure that could negatively affect the stability and structural integrity of the building.

The Ministry said that the use of Commercial buildings that have been illegally exploited and converted into shops could cause multiple risks as a result of excessive loads on electrical wires. She pointed out that the signs of the violating buildings were removed, and the sites were closed permanently, in preparation for the removal of the encroachment on the service houses that were used as parking lots.
