His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Haqil, the progress of work on a number of residential and municipal projects overseen by the Al-Baha Region Municipality, in order to review the latest developments and levels of completion. His Excellency also witnessed the inauguration of a number of completed municipal projects and the launch of a series of new and future projects, in addition to signing agreements and launching a number of development initiatives, under the gracious patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Husam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Baha Region.
Al-Haqil began his visit to Al-Baha Region by meeting with the Regional Secretary, Dr. Ali bin Muhammad Al-Sawat, and the secretariat’s leadership and officials, where he was briefed on the strategic transformation plans, targets, and municipal indicators, Achievements in development projects, as well as urban development, housing, and urban sustainability plans for the region, were also reviewed, His Excellency emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to improve the quality of services by establishing and developing infrastructure and enhancing the urban landscape to enrich the experience of citizens, visitors, and tourists.
Al-Hogail met with a number of investors and business leaders at the Secretariat’s headquarters, where they discussed the investment opportunities offered by the Ministry in the municipal and housing sectors as part of development programs and initiatives aimed at achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, noting the incentives the Ministry provides to investors to stimulate investment and promote urban development in the sector.
Laying the Cornerstone for New Municipal and Housing Projects
His Excellency witnessed the Prince of the Region inaugurate a number of completed municipal projects and lay the cornerstone for several new municipal and housing projects worth 2 billion riyals, which include Housing Projects urban humanization and improving quality of life, in addition to road projects, flood control, parks, sanitation, and environmental health.
His Excellency also witnessed the signing of memoranda of understanding between a number of institutions and civil society organizations; including a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, the Civil Housing Foundation, and the Al-Baha Association for Developmental Housing to provide 700 housing units for the most needy families, as well as two memoranda of cooperation to build 55 housing units for the most needy families in a number of housing projects in the region, His Excellency also attended the launch of a number of community initiatives aimed at enhancing the urban landscape, promoting community participation in environmental conservation, and improving the quality of life in Al-Baha.
The minister inspected a number of municipal and housing projects in the Al-Baha region, where he reviewed the progress of infrastructure development and housing projects in the Al-Rahig district, He also reviewed the Bahjat Raghadan, Asfar, Khayra Park, Waterfall Park, and Suspension Bridge projects, where he launched a number of volunteer initiatives at Raghadan Park aimed at promoting volunteerism and community participation in environmental efforts and improving the urban landscape of the region.
It is worth noting that His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing’s visit to the Al-Baha region is part of a series of inspection visits he is conducting in various cities, governorates, and regions of the Kingdom, to assess the Ministry’s projects, initiatives, and programs in the municipal and housing sectors, and to review the progress of development projects, thereby achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
