The Jeddah Provincial Secretariat announced that 4,177 buildings along various commercial streets in the province are now in compliance, after removing violations from their facades and applying the necessary standards to obtain “compliance” certificates, which is part of efforts to address visual pollution and promote awareness and civilized behavior.

The Secretariat confirmed that the requirements for the “Building Compliance” certificate apply to all residential, commercial, and government buildings, covering building design, public location, and visual disturbances on the building facade. The requirements for obtaining building compliance certificates include an occupancy permit for new buildings, a property title deed, an approved building permit, followed by submitting the application via the Baladi platform and obtaining approval from the municipality, provided that all requirements are met. The certificate for new buildings is then issued automatically after the occupancy permit is issued.

She explained that it is possible to renew the building compliance certificate through the Baladi platform by entering the details of the old certificate, and confirming that the assessment criteria have been met, while the building owner has the option to submit a technical report from an accredited engineering firm demonstrating that the building meets all requirements for the compliance certificate, If no technical report is submitted for the building, the owner schedules an on-site visit through the “Baladi” platform, to be conducted by an inspector from the municipal authority or city government, to inspect the building and verify the accuracy of the information provided in the application.
