His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Ihab Ghazi Al-Hashani, inaugurated the 34th edition of Saudi Construction Exhibition. His Excellency reviewed the exhibition and the participating entities, which included the participation of a number of entities and sectors specialized in the fields of modern construction locally and internationally, praising the diversity of innovations and solutions related to modern construction methods and advanced infrastructure.
His Excellency said that the exhibition will be held on November 4-7 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center (RICEC). His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Turki Al-Faisal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Riyadh Exhibitions Company Limited, the organizer of the exhibition, explained that the 34th Saudi Construction Exhibition aims to contribute to pushing the Kingdom towards a promising future and building a diversified and sustainable economy according to the best international experiences and practices, stressing that the exhibition and its organizers seek to contribute to a qualitative shift to raise operational efficiency in the construction field by reviewing and sharing the latest building and construction practices and technologies to achieve vital growth in line with the strategic pillars of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing in line with the targets of Saudi Vision 2030.
His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Turki Al-Faisal stressed the importance of the first edition of this exhibition to the Kingdom. He emphasized that the first edition of Saudi Construction Exhibition was launched in 1981, noting that the exhibition was held every two years, and with the development of the urban movement and the increase in demand for modern building materials and technologies, it became an annual event that meets the needs of the growing construction market and offers the latest solutions and innovations in this field.
The exhibition aims to showcase the latest building and construction practices and technologies to achieve vital growth in line with the strategic pillars of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing in accordance with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
The 34th edition of the Construction Exhibition aims to provide the latest developments and explore the possibilities of transforming and sustaining the urban environment and taking advantage of smart technologies to build an innovative and sustainable future, as it includes the participation of a wide range of sectors specialized in building technologies and materials, interior designs and finishes, stone technology, aluminum, doors, facades, glass and windows, heavy equipment, lighting and fittings, electricity and alternative energy, and water technologies.
With the development of the urban movement and the increase in demand for modern building materials and technologies, it has become an annual event that meets the growing needs of the construction market and offers the latest solutions and innovations in the field. During the exhibition, industry leaders and CEOs in the public and private sectors will discuss the latest projects and technologies that shape the Kingdom's construction and infrastructure sector and the national support for this sector, through a number of sessions and scientific papers presented by local and international specialists over 3 days.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) World Economic Outlook report forecasts that the Kingdom will achieve GDP growth of 4.7% in 2025, exceeding the global average growth, contributing to rapid economic expansion, and the construction sector is one of the main contributors to this growth, as the Kingdom is investing in future construction projects worth an estimated $1.5 trillion.
It is noteworthy that the size of the construction and infrastructure market in the Kingdom is estimated to be 1.5 trillion dollars.
The size of the Saudi construction market reached $70.33 billion in 2024 and is expected to reach $91.36 billion by 2029, growing at a CAGR of 5.37 between 2024 and 2029.
