The Holy Capital Municipality removed a number of irregular structures and developments erected on government lands by some violators who do not have legal deeds and in random ways in some locations in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, with the participation of a number of government agencies in the Holy Capital.
Removal of encroachments on public buildings
The Secretariat explained that it was able to remove (23,620) square meters of encroachments, including popular buildings consisting of rooms and cement walls, including the “Bir Al-Ghanam” site and others, during the past three months until the end of October 2024 AD, as the sites of these encroachments were distributed in various areas and plans of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and they were removed through the supervisory teams of the Holy Capital Secretariat, in cooperation with a number of security agencies.
Meanwhile, the municipality's sub-municipalities teams continue to intensify their field tours to remove such violations.
Zero tolerance for violations
She affirmed that she will not be lenient in confronting encroachments, and will not be lenient in performing her duty with all the capabilities and field teams at her disposal, in cooperation with the relevant authorities in carrying out their tasks to remove any encroachment sites without delay or leniency, and to monitor all residential sites, plans and neighborhoods, and to monitor violations and transgressions to limit the spread of such negative phenomena, which pose an environmental, planning and economic danger, stressing that she will continue her tasks in removing any encroachment sites without delay.
The Secretariat urged everyone not to pursue random lands and plans and not to build in violation of regulations, so that they are not subject to the penalties stipulated by the system in accordance with the directives issued in this regard, calling on everyone to report observations and municipal violations through the Baladi 940 application or through the official channels of the Secretariat in order to take the regulatory measures and apply them to violators.
