Sales of Saudi cement companies witnessed a remarkable jump during December 2024, recording a growth of 19% compared to the same period of the previous year, driven by a strong performance of major companies and a significant increase in export volumes. This performance reflects the sector's resilience and responsiveness to local and international demand, amid a notable rise in production and low inventories.

Yamamah Cement's monthly data showed that total cement sales (domestic and export) rose to 5.23 million tons during December 2024, compared to 4.39 million tons in the same month of 2023, an increase of 19%.

Export volumes recorded a massive increase of 148.89%, reaching 224,000 tons compared to 90,000 tons in December 2023.

Leading companies:

<Yamama Cement topped the list of the highest sales, with a total of 626 thousand tons last December, compared to 467 thousand tons in the same month of the previous year, achieving a growth of 34%.
Saudi Cement came in second place, with sales rising to 527 thousand tons compared to 417 thousand tons in December 2023, an increase of 26.38%.
Northern Cement Company recorded the lowest sales, totaling 52 thousand tons compared to 42 thousand tons in December 2023, achieving a growth of 23.81%.
Increased production and reduced inventory:
On the other hand, total cement production in the Kingdom increased by 15.5% during December 2024, reaching 5.16 million tons, compared to 4.47 million tons during the same month last year.
