His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Hussam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Emir of Al-Baha region, sponsored, at the Emirate's headquarters yesterday, the ceremony of honoring the major donors within the Joud Al-Baha campaign for 2024, and handing over 163 housing units to beneficiaries of Developmental Housing of the region from the neediest families in the presence of Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al-Sowat, Secretary of Al-Baha region and Talal bin Mohammed Al-Khanini, Deputy Minister of Municipalities and Housing for Developmental Housing.
His Highness expressed his thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince - may Allah protect them - for their unlimited support for the Joud Al Baha campaign and their keenness to provide adequate housing and quality of life for the neediest families, appreciating the support and generosity of major donors to the Joud Al Baha campaign.
In his speech during the ceremony, Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al-Sowat, Secretary of Al-Baha region, praised the patronage of His Highness the Emir of the region for this occasion, which is an extension of the support of the wise leadership to serve the housing sector and provide a decent life for deserving families, praising the role of donors and benefactors in the Joud Al-Baha campaign to provide quality of life for the most needy families as well as enhance the positive impact on community development in our country.
For his part, the Secretary General of the Development Housing Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al-Kridis, that the number of units provided in Al-Baha region amounted to 300 housing units for the neediest families, pointing out that this achievement is the fruit of cooperation with donors, supporters and partners of the initiatives, programs and solutions of “Sakan”; including the “Joud Al-Baha” campaign, which is a branch of the “Joud Areas” campaign that covered all regions of the Kingdom, to provide innovative and sustainable housing solutions that suit the needs of deserving families; and ensure a quality of life that enhances their positive impact on social development in the country.
He pointed out that building strategic partnerships with all parties involved in social responsibility from government, private, non-profit and donors to achieve a tangible developmental impact that contributes to enhancing social solidarity, and what was achieved in the Al-Baha region is one of the stations of Sakan's journey towards maximizing the developmental impact in all regions of the Kingdom, stressing the commitment to develop initiatives, programs and solutions to be more comprehensive and impactful, reflecting the Foundation's vision to support the most vulnerable groups and achieve sustainable development in the non-profit housing sector.
Sakan is a non-profit organization whose Board of Trustees is chaired by His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, and seeks to stimulate giving and community participation through innovative initiatives such as “Good Housing”, “Good Regions” and “Solution Center for Housing Innovation”, where Sakan works to pioneer and empower the non-profit housing sector to provide sustainable solutions.
