The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority has called on all taxpayers subject to tax regulations to act quickly to take advantage of the initiative “Waiver of Fines and Exemption from Financial Penalties,” which ends on June 30, 2025.
The Authority Zakat that the initiative includes exempting taxpayers from fines for late registration in all tax systems, late payment, and late filing of returns in all tax systems, in addition to fines for correcting VAT returns, and fines for field inspection violations related to the application of electronic invoicing provisions and other general VAT provisions.
She added that to benefit from the initiative, the taxpayer must be registered in the tax system, all required returns must be filed with the Authority, and that the full principal amount of the tax debt related to the due tax returns be paid, with the option to apply to the Authority for an installment plan, provided that the request is submitted while the initiative is in effect and that all installments due are paid by their respective due dates in accordance with the installment plan approved by the Authority.
The Authority emphasized that the initiative does not include penalties related to tax evasion violations, nor penalties that were paid prior to the effective date of this initiative.
The Authority invited taxpayers to review the details in the simplified guide for the initiative, available on its website, which includes a detailed explanation of the key points of the decision to extend the initiative to waive fines and exempt from financial penalties, including clarification of the types of fines covered and the conditions for exemption, the steps for paying financial obligations in installments, as well as an explanation of the field inspection violations covered by the initiative, with illustrative examples.
The Authority urged all taxpayers to take advantage of the initiative’s extension during the specified period, which ends at the end of next June, and to contact it with any inquiries regarding the initiative via the call center’s unified number (19993), which operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week,
