Housing Minister Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail will hold his first meeting with housing sector developers next Wednesday to review financing programs for citizens and the obstacles they face, as well as financing for developers and the creation of alternative financing products to overcome current obstacles. This step marks the first move toward activating a partnership with the private sector to provide affordable housing options and facilitate homeownership for citizens.

The meeting is expected to yield recommendations that strengthen the private sector’s role in the coming period and lay the groundwork for a unified information center for all investors or those interested in investing in the housing sector. The meeting, held under the auspices of the Council of Chambers of Commerce, will also address recent developments in construction that provide affordable, high-quality housing at lower costs, as well as serious efforts to address obstacles related to licensing and permits, supply and demand, and housing types.
