“GCC begins end-of-term review of anti-dumping duties against cement imports

The General Secretariat announced the opening of an investigation to review duties on clinker imports in accordance with the provisions of the Unified Law of the Gulf States.

The General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Gulf States announced the issuance of a resolution by the Standing Committee for Combating Harmful Practices in International Trade of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), to initiate a sunset review of the anti-dumping duties on imports into GCC countries of cement in the form of unground clinker.

Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Muheidib, Director General of the Technical Secretariat Office at the GCC General Secretariat, explained that these measures are in accordance with the Unified Law on Anti-Dumping, Countervailing, and Safeguard Measures of the Gulf Cooperation Council and its implementing regulations, noting that the Standing Committee on Combating Harmful Practices in International Trade of the GCC States had decided to accept the complaint and initiate an investigation.
