The National Center for Water Efficiency and Conservation the “Executive Regulations for Monitoring and Compliance with Water Efficiency and Conservation Standards,” which will become mandatory on 2 Shawwal 1447 AH, corresponding to March 21, 2026 AD, This comes as part of efforts aimed at increasing compliance with water efficiency and conservation standards in the urban, agricultural, and industrial sectors and contributing to the achievement of water sustainability, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The National Center for Water Efficiency and Conservation stated that the regulations include 15 core articles covering their objectives and scope of application, as well as standards for compliance with water conservation, as well as the roles and responsibilities of the Center and other entities, in addition to violations, monitoring and referral mechanisms, and final provisions.

The Center emphasized that these regulations aim to establish a comprehensive mechanism to ensure compliance with water efficiency and conservation to achieve water sustainability, as well as to ensure the implementation of the Center’s strategic plan and compliance with water efficiency and conservation standards, in addition to addressing the current gap in oversight and compliance, coordinating with relevant entities to improve water efficiency and conservation, and establishing the legal framework for the oversight mechanism and activating oversight functions.
