His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Excellency President Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America, presided over the proceedings of the Saudi-U.S. Summit at the Royal Court in Al-Yamamah Palace.
During the summit, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America, as well as coordination efforts to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two friendly nations in various fields. The summit also addressed regional and international developments, issues of mutual interest, and efforts being made to address them, with a view to achieving security and stability.
Following that, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and His Excellency the U.S. President proceeded to the hall prepared for the signing and exchange of bilateral agreements and memoranda of cooperation and understanding.
His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and His Excellency the President of the United States signed the Strategic Economic Partnership Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the United States of America.
The event also witnessed His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and His Excellency the President of the United States the ceremony for the exchange and announcement of a number of bilateral agreements and memoranda of cooperation, as follows:
First: A Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy of the Kingdom and the Department of Energy of the United States of America for cooperation in the field of energy, signed on the Saudi side by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy, and on the U.S. side by His Excellency Mr. Chris Wright, Secretary of Energy.
Second: A Memorandum of Intent between the Ministry of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Department of Defense of the United States of America regarding the modernization and development of the capabilities of the Saudi Armed Forces through future defense capabilities, received on the Saudi side by His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense, and on the U.S. side, by His Excellency Secretary of Defense Mr. Pete Hegseth.
A series of agreements and memoranda of understanding were then announced, namely:
– A memorandum of cooperation in the field of mining and mineral resources between the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the U.S. Department of Energy.
– The signing of a letter of intent to complete work, strengthen joint cooperation, and develop requirements related to ammunition, training, and support services, maintenance, system upgrades, spare parts, and training for the Ministry of National Guard’s land and air systems.
– A memorandum of understanding between the International Partnerships Programs at the Ministry of Interior and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) at the U.S. Department of Justice.
– A Memorandum of Intent between the Ministry of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Department of Defense of the United States of America regarding the development of healthcare capabilities for the Saudi Armed Forces.
– A Memorandum of Understanding on judicial cooperation between the Ministry of Justice of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Department of Justice of the United States of America.
– An Implementation Agreement between the Saudi Space Agency of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) of the United States of America for cooperation on the CubeSat project to monitor space weather as part of the Artemis 2 mission.
– An agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the United States of America regarding mutual assistance between the customs administrations of the two countries.
A protocol amending the agreement on air transport between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the United States of America.
– A Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation between the National Institute of Health Research in the Kingdom and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in the United States in the field of medical research on infectious diseases.
– A cooperation agreement between the Royal Commission for Al-Ula and the Smithsonian Institution, through the National Museum of Natural History, for environmental conservation.
– A cooperation agreement between the Royal Commission for Al-Ula and the Smithsonian Institution through the National Museum of Asian Art.
Following this, His Majesty departed the Royal Court, where His Royal Highness the Crown Prince bid him farewell.
