<His Excellency Engineer Abdullah Al-Jali, Secretary of Aseer Region, emphasized that Aseer region is witnessing a qualitative shift on the tourism investment map, and it is expected that the municipal sector investments will exceed SAR 16 billion in the coming years, supported by successful partnerships with the private sector and the investment arm of the Secretariat “Saraya Peaks”.
During his participation in a working paper within the sessions of Asir Investment Forum2, held at King Khalid University, Al-Jali reviewed a package of achievements and development and investment projects that aim to support economic sustainability and enhance the quality of life in the region.
He drew attention to the increase in the proportion of investment projects in Aseer by 525% in three years, as well as the increase in investment revenues by 139% during the same period, reflecting the development of the <a href="https://amlak.net.He looked forward to municipal investments to reach 16 billion riyals in the coming years, while spending on infrastructure improvement projects during the past two years reached 7 billion riyals, including the implementation of maintenance and improvement projects 2500 km of roads, asphalting more than 150 sites, establishing 625 gardens, in addition to the development of Asir Central Park with an area of more than 2.4 million square meters, bringing the total volume of projects to more than 23 billion riyals.
He pointed out that Asir Region Asir recorded the highest growth rate in investment revenues in the Kingdom by 42%, thanks to its economic components and its high attractiveness for investment, explaining that during the past two years work has been done on the region's infrastructure through the development of 142 parks with a total area of more than 2,421,605 square meters, bringing the total number of parks in the region to 625 parks, implementing more than 2,500 kilometers of road development and improvement projects, implementing more than 260 rainwater and flood drainage projects, and handing over more than 150 residential plans, noting that the Municipality has achieved a 100% completion rate in priority areas, reflecting the Municipality's commitment to achieve quality of life in Asir and enhance the urban environment in line with the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030.
He stated that the Municipality has witnessed a remarkable improvement in performance indicators, most notably the decrease in the visual distortion index by 19.6% in six months, the growth of digital transformation by 1196%, through the automation of 36 products on the "Baladi“ platform, in addition to paying 100% of contractors” dues until 2024 and 80% until 2025, in a step that reflects its commitment to achieving financial sustainability for the municipal sector.
At the end of his speech, he emphasized that the Municipality continues its efforts to provide an attractive investment environment, enhance compliance and transparency, in order to achieve the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, as part of its ambition for a major developmental renaissance that makes Asir region a promising investment environment for investors and citizens alike.
