<Al-Jarrah reported that the total number of valid mining licenses in the sector until the end of May amounted to (2,468) licenses, led by building materials quarry licenses with (1,488 licenses, followed by exploration licenses (674), mining exploitation licenses and small mines (233), reconnaissance licenses (53), and surplus mineral ores licenses (20).
He pointed out that the Mining Investment Law and its executive regulations specified (6) types of mining licenses, including the reconnaissance license, which covers all types of minerals for a period of two years that can be extended, the exploration license for all types of minerals for (5 years) for minerals of categories (A and B), a license for category (C) minerals for one year, and a general purpose license linked to the mining license or small mine.
He added. <He added: "The law also defines exploitation licenses, including a mineral mining license for categories A and B, whose license period does not exceed (30 years) that can be renewed or extended, a small mineral mine license for categories A and B, whose license period does not exceed (20 years), and a small mineral mine license for categories A and B, whose license period does not exceed (20 years)."
Added (20 years), a construction materials quarry license for minerals category (C), whose license period is up to (10 years) that can be extended, and a license for surplus mineral ores on project sites or privately owned land.“
