<The Public Authority for State Properties has revealed the approved timeframes for expropriation procedures and temporary seizure of real estate for government projects, stressing its keenness to ensure that compensation is paid to those entitled within specific and clear periods.

According to the Authority, the procedures begin with the project implementer submitting a request for expropriation or seizure to the Authority, where within 60 days the request is referred to a specialized committee to study it and issue the governor's decision either to approve or reject it.

Following that, the regulations grant the governor the authority to approve or reject the request for expropriation. Subsequently, the regulations give 60 days from the date of publication of the expropriation decision in the Official Gazette to inventory the property, including buildings, facilities or plantations, in preparation for the next stage.
