The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (Zatca) has called on all taxpayers subject to tax regulations to take advantage of the “Cancellation of fines and exemption from financial penalties” initiative, which ends on December 31. Zatka explained that the initiative includes exempting taxpayers from fines for late registration in all tax systems, late payment, and late filing in all tax systems, in addition to VAT return correction fines, fines for field control violations related to the application of electronic invoicing provisions, and other general VAT provisions.

Zatka stressed that taxpayers are exempted from all fines and financial penalties. <To benefit from the initiative, the taxpayer must be registered in the tax system, submit all returns to the Authority, and pay the full principal of the tax debt related to the outstanding tax returns, with the possibility of applying to the Authority for installment payments, provided that the application is submitted during the validity of the initiative and the commitment to pay all due installments within the due dates according to the installment plan approved by the Authority, stressing that the initiative does not include fines associated with tax evasion violations and fines that were paid before the effective date of this initiative.

Zatca invited taxpayers to familiarize themselves with the details through the simplified guidebook for the initiative, available on its website, which includes a detailed explanation of the most important aspects of the decision to extend the initiative to cancel fines and exempt from financial penalties, including clarifying the types of fines covered and the conditions for exemption from them, the steps for installment of financial dues, in addition to defining the field control violations covered by the initiative, with illustrative examples.

Zatca urged taxpayers to read the guidebook, which includes a detailed explanation of what is included in the decision to extend the initiative. Zatca urged all taxpayers to take advantage of the extension of the initiative during the specified period, which ends at the end of next December, and to contact it in case of any inquiries about the initiative through the unified call center number (19993), which operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, or the “Ask Zakat, Tax and Customs" account on the X platform (@Zatca_Care), or through e-mail ([email protected]), or instant messaging through the Authority's website (zatca.gov.sa).
