The Citizen Account Program has specified three conditions that must be met in lease agreements for them to be included in the subsidy data, in order to ensure that subsidies reach those who are eligible and to achieve fairness in the distribution of subsidies. Therefore, any lease agreement that does not meet these conditions may affect eligibility for support.
Rental Contract Requirements for Support Eligibility
The Citizen Account Program has established three conditions to ensure the validity of lease agreements, as part of the periodic verification of beneficiary data and as a criterion for accepting the agreement under eligibility and entitlement standards. These conditions are as follows:
- The lease must be registered on the Ejar platform and have a unique number recognized in the approved records.
- The electricity meter must be registered in the tenant’s name or linked to the leased unit to ensure the actual use of the leased property.
- The address registered in the Citizen Account must match the address registered in the lease agreement documented via the Ejar platform.
It must be emphasized that once a lease agreement is documented via the Ejar platform, it is included in the official records of government agencies. The lessor is advised that if any official information, such as the unit address or electricity meter number, changes, they must update it with the relevant government agencies to ensure the accuracy of their data.
Citizen Account Program Support
Following the Citizen Account Program’s announcement of the three conditions to ensure the validity of a lease agreement, if the agreement fails to meet one or more of these conditions, it may be rejected by the Citizen Account Program, and the beneficiary may consequently lose their support.
