Article 9 of the updated Housing Support Regulations, recently approved by the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, specified that the applicant must not exceed the value of the family's market assets by more than 5 million Saudi riyals, thus this condition excludes families with high financial solvency from support programs and directs resources to the middle classes and below.

The regulation clarifies that personal cars, not exceeding 3 cars per family, as well as residential lands whose total area does not exceed 1,000 square meters are not counted in the 5 million riyals value, as these things are not classified as investment wealth.

According to this clarification. According to this clarification regarding the value of assets for a family applying for housing support as explained by Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, the car or small residential land is not counted from the assets according to the aforementioned requirements, meaning that having a private car or owning a small residential land does not mean that the family is out of eligibility, but if they exceed the conditions, then they are counted from the value of assets, and the family is not eligible for support.
