SASO will organize the 9th Standards Forum on Wednesday under the slogan: “A Shared Vision for a Better World”, under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SASO, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi.

The role of industrial partnerships in supporting localization and sustainability

This year, the forum is highlighting the seventeenth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely: “Partnerships to achieve the goals”, as it focuses on strengthening the partnership with the industrial sector in developing standards, which contributes to raising the quality of national products and services, supporting localization, increasing exports, and achieving integration with global supply chains.

Saudi Standards explained that the forum will address a number of important topics, most notably: Developing standards in partnership with industry, by enabling national factories to actively participate in the formulation of standards through strategic partnerships, as well as promoting technical compatibility by adopting local practices as national standards.

The forum invites all professionals to participate in the forum by enabling national factories to actively participate in drafting standards through strategic partnerships, as well as promoting technical compatibility by adopting local practices as national standards. The forum will be held in conjunction with the Saudi Standards and Quality Forum, in addition to building the technical capabilities of national factories and increasing their competitiveness in local markets. The forum is held in conjunction with World Standards Day, which falls on October 14 of each year, an international occasion celebrated by standardization organizations around the world to highlight the pivotal role of standards in achieving environmental, social and economic sustainability, since the establishment of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in 1947.
