The “Ejar” network announced the launch of a new online service that allows landlords to request an increase or decrease in rent upon contract renewal, which is then sent electronically to the tenant, who has the option to accept or reject it. This new service helps regulate the rental relationship between the landlord and the tenant.
According to Ejar Network, if the landlord wishes to change the rent amount, they must submit a request 90 days before the end of the lease to request an increase or decrease in rent upon renewal, and the request is sent electronically to the tenant, This service is part of ongoing efforts to develop the real estate rental sector.
The tenant has the right to reject or accept the request submitted by the landlord. If the tenant agrees, the new rent is automatically applied upon renewal. If the tenant refuses or does not respond, the automatic renewal is canceled, and the contract expires at the end of its original term, which contributes to fairness and transparency between the landlord and the tenant.
Ijar Network explained that, in compliance with the implementation of the rent stabilization decision in Riyadh, landlords in Riyadh may only submit a request to reduce the rent amount.
